Grounded in the history of our community yet looking toward the future, First United Presbyterian Church of Guthrie is a caring family of Christians working together to move closer to God. Through worship, education, fellowship and service we have been part of our community for 125+ years and continue to search for ways to serve. Come join us at our table that has been open to all since 1889. First United Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

Church History

April 21, 1889 Presbyterians gathered to worship in Ark City, Kansas and plan a church in the new territory. The next day was land run day, April 22, 1889. We officially chartered on June 9, 1889.

Reverend Katrina Richardson

With a heart full of gratitude, I accepted the call here at First United Presbyterian Church November, 2021. I grew up here in Guthrie, OK, and it is where I met my husband, Billy and had our daughters. I attended the University of Central OK on scholarship, receiving a B.A. in Political Science. While finishing up my B.A., I began working for FUPC as a secretary and became a member of the congregation.
After a few years in social work with Logan County, my family and I moved to Dubuque, IA for my Master of Divinity degree at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. I was an active Wendt Character Scholar and a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship.
Since then, I have worked as the Associate Pastor at both First Congregational Church UCC in Dubuque, IA and First Presbyterian Church in Bellevue, IA, completed 3 units of Clinical Pastoral Education, and was a Chaplain for MercyOne Medical Center.
Currently, we are enjoying living back home in Guthrie, OK on our tiny ranch that is home to 2 donkeys, 1 miniature horse, and our newest addition, a rescued wild mustang.
This is an exciting time here at First United Presbyterian Church as we begin this journey together, remembering the past, rejoicing in the present, and looking to the future.
